Here in Ibiza, being blessed with a selection of almost 100 amazing beaches means spending time by the sea is oh-so-much-more than just your average day of sun, surf and socialising.

Early birds can catch the sun rising in the east over a delicious breakfast at Es Cavallet’s El Chiringuito, the famous Jockey Club at Las Salinas or Amante at Sol Den Serra – and score a prime position sun bed in the process!

For those with little ones in tow, try the escapist havens of Sa Punta in Talamanca and Pura Vida in Santa Eularia – places where the kids can be entertained while you enjoy your meals in peace and tranquility.

Leisurely, long and luxurious lunches are always the order of the day at the amazing selection of world-class beach restaurants peppering our shores – from simple, rustic beach shacks to chic modern eateries, all serving up the finest, freshest fare and popular with A-list visitors and locals alike.

However if your idea of an Ibiza holiday is more about the music, rest assured the famous Ibiza spirit lives on in our beach bars – from reggae, chill out and dub to today’s most in-demand house and techno DJs, it seems everyone wants to party on the sand and who could blame them? With plenty of amazing venues, boasting VIP day beds, delicious cuisine and ambient cocktail bars – think Ushuaia, Nassau, Sands and Blue Marlin – proving there’s no reason to leave the beach just because the sun’s gone down

Bambuddha Grove 10th Anniversary

The tenth anniversary of Ibiza institution Bambuddha Grove marks a milestone, not just in terms of time honoured and served (and let me just say that they’ve certainly served the who’s who of island visitors and residents alike over the last decade) on the island, but also in the long and interesting history of owner and creator John Moon and for the future of his daughter Sasha and son Jonjon. For it is in 2009 that John Moon plans to enter retirement, passing Bambuddha’s prosperous reins over to his children… and if that’s not worthy of a party, then I don’t know what is!

Taste

The Dutch have a knack of making things funky. The owners of Taste, just outside Jesús, are no exception. The outside garden is welcoming, evening light hits the trees and ivy climbers giving it a dappled comfort. The layout is lovely and the tables are all set with a specially commissioned bull’s head ceramic plate - the sort of plate that makes you want to eat steak…
